Concord High School Fire Academy Graduates its First OSFM Certified Firefighter I,II Recruit

Nathan Bryant is the first recruit to become Firefighter I,II certified through the Concord High School Fire Academy program. Nathan's journey to certification as a NC Firefighter I,II was accomplished very quickly with 14 of the OSFM's 21 certification classes taken through our program. The other 7 classes were completed through Community College classes offered through local Fire Departments and Weekend Fire Schools. The most challenging of the classes were the Haz Mat Awareness and Operations class - 44 hours (He scored in the high 90's on the written exam) and Fire Control - 40 hours which finished up with Live Fire Training the weekend after graduation.
His certification was officially complete with the updated OSFM Transcript on Wednesday August 17th, 2011. The Firefighter I,II Certificate arrived on Friday 8-19-11 with the IFSAC Seal recognized in 43 States and a number of other Countries.

Nathan has volunteered with both
Northeast Volunteer Fire Department
and Mount Pleasant Fire - Rescue throughout his Senior year.

Nathan will begin his Professional Firefighting career on September 2, 2011 as a part time Firefighter with Odell Fire Department in Cabarrus county.
He is also enrolled in the Associates Degree program in Fire Protection Technology at Rowan Cabarrus Community College.
